Finnish country phenomenon Steve N’ Seagulls at The Peppermint Club 3/9/2023

Tonight’s venue The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood is a small and intimate venue and was a perfect place for this exceptional 5 piece Finnish posse. The venue was almost packed when Steve N’ Seagulls hit the stage after the pretty similar sounding country oriented warming act, Water Tower. But again, there was no question who was the headliner on this tour. Steve N’ Seagulls’ intensity, energy, talent, personalities and humour all together form an irresistable combination of something that is completely unique. It’s no surprise they’ve been popular in their home country Finland and all over the world since the “coincidental” start of their career in 2014 when they launched a groundbreaking version of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck on Youtube.

However, the gig was professional, super entertaining, and funny at the same time. The speeches between the songs were unintentionally comical, but that’s a great and unpredictable part of their show. Steve N’ Seagulls managed to build a tangible and warm atmosphere that carried from one song to another. Setlist consisted mainly of renowned rock and metal tunes, but included also a couple of their own songs.
